Courtesy Visit by the Ambassador-Designate of Spain to Malaysia

The School of Languages, Literacies and Translation (SoLLaT), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) had the honour of welcoming the Ambassador-Designate of Spain to Malaysia, His Excellency Mr. Sergi Farré Salvá, on his first visit to the USM campus.

His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Francisco Javier López Tapia, Director of the Cervantes Institute in Manila, and Mdm. Rosa María Prieto Gallego, Education Counsellor for Southeast Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.

The delegation was personally received by the Dean of SoLLaT, together with members of the school’s Exco. During the visit, His Excellency also had the opportunity to meet and engage informally with members of the CELEAP 2026 Organising Committee, creating a warm and cordial exchange ahead of the congress.

The visit marked a meaningful occasion for SoLLaT and provided an opportunity to strengthen connections and foster closer engagements between USM and representatives of Spain’s diplomatic, educational and cultural institutions.
