Strengthening Academic Partnerships with Spanish Institutions

In conjunction with the 4th Congress of Spanish as a Foreign Language in Asia-Pacific (CELEAP 2026), the School of Languages, Literacies and Translation (SoLLaT), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), had the valuable opportunity to engage with representatives from several Spanish institutions and organisations to explore potential areas of academic, research, and institutional collaboration.

The engagement brought together representatives from the Spanish Education Office in Southeast Asia, Aula Cervantes Kuala Lumpur, Editorial Edinumen, and Nebrija University, all of whom participated in CELEAP 2026. The discussions provided a platform to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for future cooperation in areas such as Spanish language education, academic and student mobility, research, professional development, and educational resources.

Beyond the congress itself, this engagement reflects SoLLaT’s continued commitment to strengthening its international networks and fostering meaningful partnerships with institutions in Spain and the wider Spanish-speaking academic community. Such collaborations are expected to create new opportunities for staff and students while further enhancing SoLLaT’s international visibility and academic engagement.
