PROFILE

Mozhgan holds a PhD in Translation and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Languages, Literacies, and Translation at Universiti Sains Malaysia.Her areas of interest include Audiovidual Translation, Translation Technology, and Machine Translation. Mozhgan has also been working professionally as a translator and subtitler since 2005.

Awards and Recognitions

  • Silver medal for the innovation “Neural Machine Translation (NMT) as an Innovative Pedagogy Toward a Multilingual Classroom” at the Language Research and Innovation Competition (2023)
  • Bronze award for the invention entitled "Integrating Generative AI as a Teaching Tool in Business and Translation Education" in the International Business Innovation & Ideas Competition (2023)
  • Nominated for the best Ph.D. thesis - Universiti Sains Malaysia (2019)
  • Awarded as outstanding student - Universiti Sains Malaysia (2019)
  • Awarded as the most creative paper presentation - International Language Learning Conference (2017)
  • Sign Language (Penang Deaf Association, 2019)

Personal Passions & Interests

  • Paddler: Member of Penang Expat's Dragon Boat team for Pendang race 2022, and represented Celtic Warriors, Ireland in the Sarawak International Dragon Boat Regatta 2023.
  • Runner: Engages in various marathon and half-marathon events.
  • Rock Climber: Passion for rock climbing and completed the trek to Everest Base Camp.
  • Animal Advocate: Engaged in elephant conservation as an Elephant Ambassador at Cambodia's Elephant Valley Project and passionate about canine welfare.
